This is not coincidence. This is economic sabotage, and we’re calling it out.

The Ebola scare is gutting our wildlife income in real time. Bookings are collapsing. Over 3,200 tourist reservations for Q3–Q4 2026 have been canceled across Uganda’s national parks in the last 30 days alone. Lodges in Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth, and Murchison are reporting 60–80% cancellations.

Uganda Wildlife Authority’s quarterly revenue is down 47% year-on-year. That’s not just statistics. That’s salaries not paid, rangers not equipped, and communities around parks losing the money that keeps schools running and families fed.

And it’s not stopping there. Our forex inflows are being strangled because tourism is one of Uganda’s top foreign exchange earners. When tourists cancel, dollars stop flowing. The shilling feels it. Traders feel it. The entire economy feels it.

All of this is being fueled by the weird boda boda mentality reporting from foreign media. They ride one case, spin it into a continent-wide horror story, and broadcast it 24/7 while ignoring outbreaks and violence in their own countries. This isn’t journalism. This is economic warfare with a microphone.

And the timing is surgical.

Right when Africans should be mobilizing for the World Cup, signing deals, traveling, spending, and showing up on the global stage, the narrative shifts to “Africa is unsafe.” They don’t want our presence. They don’t want our money. They want us contained, dependent, and silent.

America and its media machine have mastered this playbook. Manufacture panic. Control perception. Protect their interests. Kill our tourism. Drain our revenue. Then turn around and lecture us about development and aid.

But here’s what they forget: M7 has fought many wars and battles, and we have won.

We’ve stared down insurgencies, economic embargoes, and foreign interference before. This media stunt is no different. We know how to survive, adapt, and come out stronger.

We see it. We’re done pretending we don’t.

This isn’t about health. It’s about control. About keeping Africa locked out of the global stage, one manufactured headline at a time.

If we don’t call it out now, we’ll keep paying the price with our jobs, our businesses, our forex, and our dignity.

Africa will not be intimidated off the world stage. Not this time. Keep your FIFA World Cup finals; let’s build our economies.
